Next Level AV: Expanding Creative Freedom provides Audio Video students with professional-grade equipment that will enhance their ability to create, collaborate, and explore new forms of visual storytelling. This grant will supply essential production tools to students. By expanding access to reliable industry-standard equipment, students will have greater creative freedom to develop their technical skills and produce higher-quality projects in real-world production environments. This investment will empower students to move beyond classroom limitations and experience the collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity required in the professional audio and video industry.
The Next Level AV: Expanding Creative Freedom project addresses the growing need for professional production equipment that allows students to fully engage in hands-on, industry-relevant learning experiences. The Crosby High School Audio Video Production program serves approximately 200 students in grades 9–12 each year, providing Career and Technical Education (CTE) instruction that prepares students for postsecondary education and careers in media production, broadcasting, filmmaking, and digital communications. As enrollment has increased, access to essential production equipment has not kept pace, limiting students' opportunities to work collaboratively, explore creative production techniques, and gain experience using tools that mirror those found in professional environments.
The Next Level AV: Expanding Creative Freedom project will provide students with professional production equipment that expands opportunities for authentic, hands-on learning in the Audio Video Production program. During the 2026–2027 school year, students will use the grant-funded equipment, including professional communication systems, external monitors, wireless audio extensions, an XLR snake, protective camera bags, and a mobile equipment cart, to produce short films, live broadcasts, sports coverage, school events, interviews, and collaborative media projects both in the classroom and throughout the Crosby High School campus.
