Letters Alive supplemental reading kit uses augmented reality to engage & excite our youngest scholars while learning letters, letter sounds, word building, and sentence building. Letters Alive promotes hands-on learning opportunities in a very inviting and fun way that keeps students eager to learn more.
We, as a nation, are in a learning recession and a lack of adequate foundational literacy skills are causing low reading scores. Those foundational literacy skills start with some of our youngest scholars, kindergarteners. They need to be actively engaged in their learning in order to retain the information being taught. Instruction must activate curiosity, engage multiple senses, and connect emotionally to language, letters, sounds, stories, and discovery.

With 3D augmented reality zoo animals, Letters Alive offers engaging, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. I plan to use Letters Alive as a supplemental literacy resource to increase student engagement, curiosity, and excitement for learning letters, sounds, words, and more. This program invites students to participate in hands-on learning activities that will be used in whole group, small groups, and as a center. The increased engagement will play a huge part in the tremendous growth my kindergarteners will show from beginning of the year to end of the year. Implementation of Letters Alive in my ELA lessons will invoke students’ participation in creating meaningful learning experiences that will leave a lasting impact and foster a love for learning.
