As a Special Education teacher and cheer sponsor, I am requesting funding for a large-format poster printer that will be used to enhance student learning, communication, school involvement, and community engagement through student-created visual projects. For the cheer program, students will create positive school culture campaigns, recognition posters, event materials, and community outreach displays that promote school pride and student involvement. Rather than purchasing posters externally, students will gain hands-on experience producing materials themselves while learning graphic design and communication skills.

As a Special Education teacher, I see every day how important visual supports are for helping students understand, retain, and apply what they are learning. Many of my students learn best when information is presented visually, and having access to high-quality posters and other large-format materials would allow me to create engaging resources that meet a variety of learning needs.

Right now, large posters must either be ordered from outside vendors or pieced together using limited classroom resources. This takes time, increases costs, and often limits the number of projects students can create. Having a poster printer on campus would give students immediate opportunities to design and create their own visual learning materials, presentations, awareness campaigns, and school spirit projects.

This equipment would not only support classroom instruction but also give students hands-on experience with technology, collaboration, communication, and creative problem-solving. By allowing students to take an active role in creating meaningful materials for our school and community, this project will help increase engagement, build confidence, and make learning more relevant and accessible for all students.

The goal of this project is to increase student engagement, communication, leadership, and academic achievement through hands-on, student-created visual projects. Rather than purchasing posters from outside vendors, students will take ownership of the entire process by researching, planning, designing, and producing materials that serve a meaningful purpose within the school community.

By May 2027, students will participate in projects utilizing the poster printer. Students in Special Education, cheerleading, student organizations, and general education classrooms will collaborate to create large-format visual displays that support academic learning, celebrate achievements, promote school initiatives, and build a positive campus culture.
Grant funds will be used to purchase a large-format poster printer, ink, and printing supplies. Activities will occur throughout the campus, including classrooms, hallways, common areas, athletic facilities, and school events. Students will use the printer to create instructional materials, visual supports, project-based learning displays, recognition boards, motivational campaigns, and informational posters.

As members of the cheer program, students will gain valuable leadership and communication experience by designing school spirit campaigns, event promotions, community service projects, and positive character-awareness initiatives. Cheerleaders will work alongside other student groups to create displays that promote attendance, kindness, inclusiveness, academic achievement, and school pride. These projects will allow students to apply creativity and problem-solving skills while making meaningful contributions to the school community.
The long-term impact of this project extends beyond a single classroom or organization. The printer will become a campus resource that supports instruction, student leadership development, Special Education services, and extracurricular programs. By empowering students to create meaningful products that educate, inform, and inspire others, this project will enrich student learning while strengthening school culture and community involvement for years to come.
