The Band Department would like to purchase a Smart TV for our facilities. We have dreamed of this for years, seeing it at other districts and exploring the vast benefits of this equipment. This one-time grant would be a 10 year investment that would serve our students musically, academically, SEL, student engagement, and also visually with the marching aspect. This would be used to watch educational videos, observe marching drill, used daily for supplemental education, large screen Zoom for guest conductors and convictions, and beyond. It is more reliable, quicker, more features, and far better quality than a classroom wall projector. There is also the use of the "pen" to mark on the smart TV, showing items, taking notes. The possibilities are extremely exciting!
Our band program has students 9-12 from a wide range and diverse set of backgrounds, beliefs, socio-economic situations, and learning abilities. These kids love their school, district, and Crosby community, serving year round at district and community events, volunteering, pep bands, and beyond. They would be very grateful for this grant support. Our current budget and fundraising is geared toward replacing and repairing instruments, uniforms, competition, meals, instruction, supplies, travel, and helping students be in band who financially would not be able to otherwise. The added technology in this grant just is not in our means of affordability at the time. Thank you for the consideration.
