At CHS, we believe that the foundation of every strong athlete—regardless of sport or specialty—is built on fitness, flexibility, and strength. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, the Dance, Volleyball, PE and Athletics programs are joining forces with a shared mission: to develop well-rounded student-athletes through access to high-quality, functional fitness equipment. Items will be selected based on versatility, durability, and adaptability for various training needs across dance and sports programs. Proposed items include: Resistance bands and mobility tools, Dumbbells and kettle bells, Medicine balls, Balance trainers, Core stability and stretching mats, pedometers, yoga blocks, drum fit program, portable, wireless microphones, and weights.  Each participating program has recognized the growing demand for modern training methods. Currently, our students lack access to the foundational tools necessary for athletic development. Dancers need strength and flexibility to support technique and prevent injury. Volleyball players require explosive power, agility, and core strength. All athletes benefit from improved mobility, functional strength, and recovery tools. Rather than operating in silos, we are combining efforts to create a more equitable, efficient, and impactful training environment for our student-athletes. This grant will not only provide much-needed equipment—it will also serve as an investment in the overall well-being and development of CHS students. By empowering our athletes through a collaborative fitness initiative, we are preparing them to succeed both on and off the field, court, or stage. We respectfully request your support in helping CEF to build stronger, safer, and more capable athletes—together.

At CHS, the Dance, Volleyball, and Athletics programs serve a combined total of over 400 student-athletes annually, representing a diverse cross-section of our student population. Our shared goal is to empower these students through comprehensive fitness training that supports strength, flexibility, injury prevention, and long-term health. However, our current equipment are inadequate to meet these growing needs, limiting our ability to properly train athletes and support their physical development across disciplines. While CHS has dedicated coaching and strong student participation in extracurricular athletics and fine arts, we lack a shared, up-to-date inventory of strength and conditioning equipment. Existing resources are outdated, minimal in quantity, or sport-specific, preventing cross-program use. For example, our dancers have no access to mobility tools or light resistance equipment for strength training. Our volleyball athletes are limited to bodyweight conditioning, missing out on essential tools for developing vertical power and core stability. Many of our general athletes lack the guided resources for off season or in-season functional training. This disparity results in uneven athletic development, increased injury risk, and missed opportunities for improving overall performance. By targeting over 400+ students across three major programs, this project will benefit: 65 dancers participating in high-intensity choreography and competition, 50+ volleyball athletes training for agility, power, and endurance, 200+ athletes in other team sports (off-season or cross-training). This grant will directly address the urgent need for equitable, high-quality fitness equipment at CHS to support over 400 student-athletes and dancers. By creating a shared inventory used by Dance, Volleyball, PE and Athletics, we will foster a school-wide culture of health, strength, and injury prevention—building a stronger, more unified athletic community.
