Supporting Peers with Video Recording and Livestream - Paul Fontenot, A/V Production Department Image
This project will provide students with the equipment needed to livestream school events such as sports, concerts, and meetings. With this technology, students will take on real roles in planning, producing, and broadcasting live content. They'll gain hands-on experience in digital media, learning to work under pressure and adapt in real time. The project builds technical and communication skills that are essential for future careers in media, technology, and beyond.

Our school currently lacks the equipment and infrastructure necessary to support student-led livestreaming of campus events. As digital media and live broadcasting continue to grow in relevance across careers—from journalism and entertainment to marketing and public relations—our students are missing critical opportunities to develop real-world communication and technical skills. By securing this equipment, we aim to fill this gap—creating a dynamic, student-driven program that fosters collaboration, creativity, and career readiness through practical experience in live production. Adding this as an option for our students to create and facilitate student driven content.

Obtaining this equipment will empower students to livestream a wide range of campus events, including sporting competitions, choir concerts, student meetings, and other important activities. With access to professional-grade tools, students will take ownership of the entire production process—planning, filming, directing, and broadcasting live content to our school community and beyond. This project will place the power of real-time communication directly in the hands of students, providing them with invaluable, hands-on experience in media production. They will learn to navigate the fast-paced and often unpredictable nature of live broadcasting—developing not only technical skills but also critical soft skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability under pressure. Ultimately, this initiative will help students build confidence and competence in digital media, preparing them for future opportunities in communication, journalism, and technology fields.
