The Secondary Choir Program is in need of financial assistance in order to hire qualified accompanists. We have been fortunate to have assistance the past two years and the results have been amazing. Almost every Secondary Choir has received superior ratings at the UIL Contests for the past 2 years. 

The CISD Secondary Choirs have competed very well in the last 2 UIL Choir Contests thanks in great part to having reliable accompanists. All secondary choir students benefit from this even if they do not compete in the UIL Contests. By having qualified accompanists, the secondary choir directors can actually do their job without having to play the piano and conduct. 

The approximately 300 students in the secondary choir program will all benefit from having a regular accompanist in the rehearsals and concerts. As previously stated, accompanists allow the directors to focus on the student progress and not on having to play the piano and assess the students at the same time. This also allows for the choir directors to move around the room and run the rehearsals from the "power zone" rather than spending much of the rehearsals behind the piano.
