Green House Club - Cindy Herrera Image
I currently have two green houses from CEF from two separate grants. My classroom students have enjoyed and learned so much from experiencing the benefits of learning how to grow your own vegetables. I wanted to start a gardening club that can expand the green house experience for more students. I need more shelves and materials in order to be successful.

The target population will be third grade and fifth grade students that are excited to learn about gardening. All of my bilingual students will be counted for (40 students) and I plan to open the gardening club registration for 20 more students from third and fifth grade. We currently do not have a gardening club that can help studetns learn lifelong skills.

Greenhouse gardening can encourage creativity by allowing students to experiment with different plant varieties, growing techniques, and design ideas. Students can design their own garden layouts, create their own plant markers, and even build their own greenhouse structures. This can help foster a sense of ownership and pride in their work and encourage them to continue learning and exploring. In conclusion, greenhouse gardening is a wonderful way for schools to teach students about growing food. It provides a hands-on learning experience, teaches sustainability, provides healthy and fresh produce, promotes STEM learning, and encourages creativity. By incorporating greenhouse gardening into their curriculum, schools can help students develop important skills and knowledge that they can apply to their future endeavors.
The district has a mission to help students become responsible citizens that will be successful in a life setting. Overall, greenhouse gardening is an excellent way to promote STEM learning in schools. By incorporating greenhouse gardening into their curriculum, schools can help students develop important skills and knowledge in biology, physics, chemistry, technology, and math. These skills can prepare students for a wide range of careers and help them to become critical thinkers and problem solvers, both inside and outside of the classroom.
