Three custom-made metal goal boards that measure 3' by 4' would be displayed in the athletic hallway, inside the home dugout at the softball field, and in the girls' locker room. The Cougar Mission board will hang in the locker room, the Goal Board in the home dugout, and the Record board in the athletic hallway inside the high school. All three boards would contribute to team growth, accountability, and legacy.
Our Crosby Cougar softball team is currently displaying team goals on a whiteboard using dry erase markers located inside of our home dugout. We take great pride in setting team goals before every game and tracking our progress to every win. Goals such as: Quality at Bats, Scoring First, Errors, Answering Back and Scoring 3 or More Runs Each Inning are currently recorded with tally marks and easily erasable. The weather and outside elements make it very difficult to maintain a goal board that is visual to the players for the entire week of practice and during games. The CHS Softball team is in need of permanent goal boards, mission boards, and record boards to provide a more reliable way of keeping track of our daily/weekly/season progress as a team. These permanent boards will be able to be utilized by at least 35 players each year. As of now, we erase our goals each week and rewrite them for the upcoming game. This makes is very difficult to realize our areas of growth and our areas for celebration because we can not see previous results of our performance.
During the 2024 Softball season the team would be able to use the Mission board in the locker room to be reminded daily before practice and weekly before games that our mission is to develop champions with excellent character both on and off the field. Once the players are on the field, the goal board will keep track of all of our progress during district games, playoff games and state games. Upon completion of each softball season the record board that will be hung in the athletic hallway will display the name of the players that have succeeded in breaking the team records.
