PebbleGo is a complete bilingual curricular online platform that engages students of all ages. This online platform has excellent graphics, concise written information, an assisted technology feature and in-depth resources that students thoroughly enjoy. Students feel empowered because they are able to use this website independently and it gives us teachers a way to differentiate amongst our students abilities, while allowing them to do good quality work.
PebbleGo is a fully mobile-responsive website that students are able to access on smart phones, tablets and computers. Students in K-3 will have access to over 1,600 articles across 5 different content areas every day, all day! With a click of a button, students in the dual language program will gain a plethora of knowledge through the use of expertly translated content. Students will have access to an "at home" library without having to worry about purchasing books. Our campus currently doesn't have assisted technology that is also bilingual. Through proper supports, students of all abilities are able to work independently, therefore, enhancing their learning experience.
Pebble Go will enhance the learning opportunities for all students grades K-3 by bridging the divide anywhere and at any time. Students will gain a better understanding of how to apply critical thinking skills to the online information and most importantly how to cite the sources they use.Pebble Go will enhance the learning opportunities for all our students by addressing a diversity of learning styles. Since Pebble Go is a bilingual platform that uses a variety of delivery methods such as videos, interactive text, games and assistive technology, it will act as a bridge for our low socioeconomic, bilingual and neurodiverse students. Additionally, having the ability to access this user-friendly platform in any and multiple devices, students will benefit from it not only at school but also at home, gaining a better understanding of how to apply critical thinking skills to the online information provided. For our students with different learning abilities, Pebble Go provides assistive text-to-speech technology. In comparison to other interventions, assistive technology may have a significant effect in helping students with disabilities progress towards the goals outlined on their Individual Education Plans (Watson, Ito, Smith, & Andersen, 2010). As a campus, we would use this platform constantly, as a way to supplement our different learning objectives with independent practice through games, videos and even lesson plans that would enrich our own. As an example of when we would use Pebble Go, at the end of every unit we do research projects. By using this platform students would gain access independently to information that they are interested in, while relying on trustworthy, citable resources. We would also use it to enrich students individual knowledge of the topics they care about by opening a door to over 1,600 articles in subjects like animals, science, biographies, social studies and health. Pebble Go is a very fun, user-friendly platform that meets children at their level. “Students acquire an enhanced ability to think creatively and in more complex ways, use more higher-order cognitive thinking skills, acquire more intellectual maturity. Students are able to adapt more quickly to a broader range of learning environments.” (Kansas State University).
