Generation Genius is an innovative educational platform that brings science to life for K-12 students through engaging and entertaining video lessons. Their comprehensive curriculum is designed by experienced educators and aligned with national standards, fostering curiosity and critical thinking in young minds. Generation Genius was created for grades K-8 and could be used for 600+ students on our campus. We believe that having Generation Genius could truly enhance our lessons that we create and has so many resources included that we can integrate and use on a daily basis. Generation Genius allows STEM teachers to provide concrete material that students can connect to and relate to the real world. It also promotes engagement. When students are engaged, this produces higher standardized testing scores, improves academic performance, allows them to improve social skills, and improve retention. We recently had students complete a survey regarding their least favorite and favorite subjects, and was shocked at the results, noticing that science was the top least favorite subject. Using Generation Genius will allow us to change these opinions on science and incorporate a hands-on learning environment that students can enjoy coming to school for. Another benefit that Generation Genius offers is a multi-sensory approach. It reaches students with different learning styles by providing videos, written material, audio, and hands-on activities. The videos, vocabulary, and other supplemental aids on the Generation Genius website are also available in the Spanish language for our bilingual students. Overall, Generation Genius has many benefits that are suitable in the classroom to help enhance instruction.
